Words From The Couple

How did you and Chance meet?
Chance and I met in 2009 when I was 14 and he was already 16. I was a freshman and he was a sophomore. He knew my best friend and one day decided to ask “who’s that girl you walk in the hall with every day?” And it went from there lol! We’ve been together ever since.

“When I finally got to the end, Chance was waiting with these huge cut out letters that said “marry me”. It was perfect.”

How do he propose?
Chance proposed to me on our 7 year anniversary. He tricked me into thinking we were going to his storage building to plug up the boat battery for their hunting trip in Matagorda the next morning. Normally it takes 2 people, but he said he didn’t want me to have to get out in my nice dress and heels so to just keep my phone on me in case he needed me to come inside. Sure enough he called 5 minutes later and said he needed my help. To my surprise, the long hallway leading to the main garage was lined with every picture we had taken in 7 years, the floor was lined with Christmas lights and tea light candles. It didn’t even click what was going on until I saw the GoPro mounted on the wall lol! When I finally got to the end, Chance was waiting with these huge cut out letters that said “marry me”. It was perfect.

“We want our marriage to be centered around the Lord”

What steps are you taking to prepare for married life?
We’re currently doing pre-marital counseling with the pastor that is marrying us. It’s important to both of us to understand what it means to both be Christians and married. We want our marriage to be centered around the Lord, and also want our new baby to grow up in a household that has true Christian values. We thought we couldn’t get any closer to each other, but since we’ve taken the classes it’s brought us together even more.

While planning your wedding, what are you most excited about? What has been the most stressful part of planning a wedding?
We both agree that we’re most excited to just finally be MARRIED! While planning the wedding, we only got stressed about moving the wedding up 10 months due to baby Jace! Luckily, every vendor I had already booked was available for the new date! Wedding planning itself really has been a breeze. My planners are seriously the They have handled pretty much everything! I have had zero stress. I highly recommend that every bride splurge for a planner, especially if you’re indecisive like me
